How Meet Noodles collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit our website, place an order, or contact us.

1. Who we are
Meet Noodles is a takeaway restaurant located at Hagedoornweg 50, 1031 BS Amsterdam-Noord, the Netherlands. We are the data controller (verwerkingsverantwoordelijke) for any personal data you share with us through this website.

2. What data we collect
We only collect personal data that you provide directly, and a minimum of technical data needed to operate our website.
When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address (only if you choose delivery), order contents, and payment confirmation. We do not store your card details — those are processed by our payment provider (see section 5).
When you use the contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
When you subscribe to our newsletter: your email address.
When you simply browse the site: standard technical data including your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This is used to keep the site working and to detect abuse.
3. Why we use your data
Each piece of data we hold is tied to a clear purpose:
- To fulfil your order — preparing your food, contacting you about the order, and delivering or making it available for pickup. Legal basis: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To respond to your message — when you reach out via the contact form. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing customer service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To send our newsletter — only if you sign up. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To keep our website secure and stable — logs, anti-abuse, caching. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To comply with our legal obligations — tax records, accounting. Legal basis: legal obligation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).
4. How long we keep your data
We keep your data only as long as we need to:
- Order data: 7 years — the retention period required by the Dutch Tax Authority for accounting records.
- Contact form messages: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe.
- Technical logs: typically up to 12 months.
5. Who we share your data with
We share data only with the third parties needed to run our service. Each is bound by an appropriate processing agreement (verwerkersovereenkomst) and processes data on our behalf.
- Hostinger — our website and database hosting provider (EU servers).
- SumUp — processes online card / iDEAL payments. We never see your full card details.
- Mailchimp — sends our newsletter (only if you subscribed).
- WordPress / WooCommerce plugins — for caching, forms and order management. These plugins run on our own server and do not transmit personal data externally.
We do not sell your personal data, ever.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR (AVG) you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data deleted (when there is no legal reason for us to keep it).
- Restrict or object to the processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw any consent you previously gave.
- File a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) — autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
